MEET KIRA

Kira was born on Oʻahu and raised in Honouliuli in ʻEwa. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.A., double majoring in Ethnic Studies and Sociology, then attended the UH Mānoa Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work, earning her MSW with a focus on Behavioral Mental Health.
She is a graduate of the Hawaiian Learning Program, where her kumu/teachers taught her to integrate and adapt culture-based practices in diverse settings to better serve our ʻohana and larger community. She has most recently worked at the Queen’s Medical Center as a social worker and clinical therapist in both their youth and adult outpatient programs. She works to incorporate aloha ‘āina, or love of land, into her daily life.
